THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly hails from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal practice is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She focuses the majority of her practice in divorce cases, alimony disputes, divorce property distribution and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions and issues involving children's welfare. Ashley has been as a mediator appointed by a court since the year helping parties to help to resolve their issues without need for litigation and court involvement. Ashley mediates private matters as well as court-appointed mediation for those who want to avoid litigation and court processes.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She continued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. In 2013, she graduated, and excelled academically, ranking among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrated her commitment to scholarship and legal research.

Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship experience, working for distinguished jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned home to Hagerstown, Maryland, to work as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her primary role in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases which involved child welfare. Ashley's dedicated efforts were instrumental in helping children who were victims of abuse or negligence at the children's parents or caregivers. Her dedication to fighting social injustice extended beyond her legal career when she was a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to educate the public about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law - divorce, child support, custody and guardianships as well for estate planning, such as wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the goal of providing a personalized approach for every client's need.
